Smart Packing Advice from Expert Susan Foster
September 21st 2008 22:06
Smart Packing is both a book and a website, by Susan Foster.
Foster is a clothing expert and a live-out-of-a-suitcase traveller. This little book is practical and useful.
There are diagrams and instructions on how to plan suitable wardrobes for any kind of trip - without carrying too much stuff. Buying luggage. Being calm about your stuff while travelling.
But here's my bottom line on this book: she tells you how to dress. I hate clothes, hate shopping for them, hate caring for them. I do appreciate being covered up but that's where it stops.
I would be better dressed at home if I lived out of a suitcase packed the Foster way.
Smart Packing for Today's Traveler, 3rd edition, ISBN 978-0-9702196-7-1.

Plenty of under pants, changes covering extremes of hot and cold, a coat which can go on or over the arm, absolute minimum toiletries, toothbrush, paste, comb, small soap - can also be used to wash hair.
Sneakers for the feet (on) and some light shoes, few socks. Towel?
Tissues I guess and some sort of document/money holder.
Any advances on that?

Who would want to travel light?
I need to travel in style, but, then again I expect it does do to have a $ in the pocket, even if it is Mother's $.
You can't beat the aristocracy, can you?
Good to see you Jill.
